About Sophia

Sophia Flowers is a poet, writer, and author of the upcoming novel A Brush With Danger.

With over 20 years experience writing creatively and professionally, she has a uniquely illuminating voice, combining contemporary language with timeless elements of legend and mystery.

Sophia especially specializes in speculative fiction (say that ten times fast!) where she brings light and clarity to dark worlds, explores the importance of diversity and perspective, and opens conversations about the nature of our reality and what it means to shape it.

She has traveled extensively around the world, walking the paths of her characters and following the common threads of mythology and storytelling that connect us all, and she has been awarded for her writing by the National Foundation for the Advancement of Artists in Washington, D.C.

She is currently an active member of the collective known as The Cordial Eye through the Creative Futures Cape Cod program.

Statement from the Author

I remember being a youth and my ideals blazing within me with a beautiful innocence. I remember what it felt like to truly believe, to vividly see a future where I was living my dreams. Some might call such a thing simple naivete, but that is a symptom of oppressive systems that frequently masquerade as "realism" – which they are not. Such systems have a tendency to attempt to crush the youth into submission, into accepting unacceptable realities as "the way things are" or are "the way things are supposed to be." That is false. I am here to expose it as such. I envision a world where we no longer crush our youth, and I intend to be an integral part of creating it.

I am here to create amazing fiction that informs and teaches - about the old oppressive systems, how we are breaking free from them, and how to create a better, more beautiful future for the good of all. I am here to tell good stories that ultimately uplift, inspire and give hope, and to contribute to making the world a better place by doing it.

My ideal life as an author includes being able to help others as much as possible and making a lasting change in the world for the sake of good. I intend to embody the spirit of my highest self, to give, and to be a representative of Heaven on Earth to the best of my ability. I'd like to reach a wide audience with a message of love.
